ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP - Held at least a share of the lead after the second and third rounds of the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP before finishing T2, his best result on TOUR since a runner-up at the 2019 Honda Classic. U.S. Open - Carded a first-round 62 and held at least a share of the lead after each of the first three rounds of the U.S. Open before finishing T5, his best result in a major championship since finishing runner-up at the 2018 Masters Tournament. Became the second player to record a 62 or better in a major (first since Branden Grace at the 2017 Open Championship), a feat that was matched by Xander Schauffele later that day. Rocket Mortgage Classic - Won the Rocket Mortgage Classic in a playoff over Adam Hadwin and Collin Morikawa, earning his sixth PGA TOUR victory and first since the 2019 WM Phoenix Open. Snapped a winless drought of 4 years, 4 months, 29 days (first such drought of more than four years in his career), with the win coming in his 96th start since his most recent title. Defeated Hadwin and Morikawa with a birdie-3 on the first playoff hole (No. 18). Victory came in his 316th start at the age of 34 years, 6 months, 19 days. Entered the final round with his third 54-hole lead/co-lead of the season and 11th of his career, improving to 3-for-11 converting the 54-hole lead/co-lead to victory.
